Dear Ola Middle School Families,

We are excited to jump right into tryouts for the Lady Mustangs OMS Softball team the first week of school. Something new and exciting this year is that all rising 6th grade students are eligible to participate in athletics for the 2026-2027 school year. For rising 7th and 8th grade students, eligibility is based on academic performance. To participate in tryouts, students must have passed at least five of their six classes during the Spring 2026 semester.

 

Tryouts will be held August 4th - 7th immediately following dismissal and lasting until approximately 6:00pm. 

Physical and Required Forms

Before participating in any athletic activities (including tryouts), all required athletic paperwork must be completed and uploaded through the Aktivate platform.

Please be sure to:

• Upload all required forms to the 2026-2027 school year in Aktivate (click here for access - Activate Information ). 
• Have a current sports physical on file. Physicals are valid for one calendar year from the date of the exam.
• Please complete this Google Form. 

*Players will not be permitted to participate until all required paperwork has been completed and approved.

 

Please come prepared for practice by bringing:

• Athletic clothing
• Tennis shoes
• Cleats
• Softball equipment (glove, bat, helmet, face mask ~ if you have it)
• Plenty of water to stay hydrated

Students may drop their athletic bag off in the athletic locker room in the morning before school (see Coach Foreman in the gym). 

 

The team will be announced Friday evening via the school/softball website. There will be a parent meeting on Monday, August 10th immediately following practice (6:00pm). Parents of players should plan to attend. Spirit packs will be ordered at this time and the athletic fee for softball will be due via cash or card in the amount of $145.
