• Review and approval of previous Meeting Minutes.

 

PBIS (Ola Pride) Overview / Goals / Focus Areas

The committee reviewed the rebranded Ola Pride initiative (formerly PBIS) with a focus on:

 

• Building a positive culture.
• Encouraging collaboration among staff and students.
• Ensuring consistent recognition of student achievements.
• Increasing excitement and engagement across the school community.

 

 

Key Notes:

 

• Need to lower citations by reinforcing positive behaviors.
• Woodland previously ran a similar program but has since discontinued it.
• The Ron Clark Program was mentioned as a model for inspiration.
• Emphasis on weekly recognition (rather than quarterly) so students do not lose motivation.
• Recognizing success as a team effort.

 

Student Engagement & Events

• Pep Rally:
  • Opportunity to design a unique experience since students have not previously had pep rallies.
  • Discussion on the difference between social events vs. pep rallies.
  • Emphasis on setting clear expectations for student behavior during IF (Instructional Focus) via visual/video communication.

• Care Reports:
  • Teachers provide input to monitor and support student needs based on personal relationships in classroom settings.
